Famed big screen names Leila Hatami and Hamed Behdad have become voice actors for Iran animation ‘The Last Fiction’.
The notable animated piece boasts a string of Iranian screen actors voicing ‘The Last Fiction’, including Hatami and Behdad who did two of the main characters as Shahrzad and Zahhak.
‘The Last Fiction’ is an open interpretation of the story of ‘Zahhak’, a page from the historical identity of Iranians and one of the central tales of the 'Book of Kings/Shahnameh' by notable Persian poet Ferdowsi.
The animation was mostly recently screened at the 31st edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth.
Director Ashkan Rahgozar said in a media interview that his voice actors did a great job, adding this “bust the voice cliché” of famed Iranian film actors in a good sense.
'The Last Fiction' is an official selection of prestigious Annecy animated fest in France.
